About Us
In 1992, the Vryheid
Assembly of God Church decided that there was a need for a
Pre-School in our town that would be open to children of all races.
It was decided that the school would be called Manna Christian
Pre-School. 'Manna' means Bread of Heaven (Angel's food).
40 Children enrolled on
that first day. The school continued to grow to its maximum, which
is 80 children. We currently employ 5 Educators at the School. Manna
is registered with the South African Government as a provider of
Pre-School (Grade R) Education. We are a Non-Profit Organisation.
The School is very well
equipped. All surplus funds are reinvested into buying materials for
the classrooms, such as books, puzzles, toys and other educational
equipment as well as outdoor equipment for the play areas.
Over the years, local
Primary Schools have been very eager to accept Manna Children into
their Grade 1 classes, as our children have been found to be well
prepared for formal schooling. This is still so today.
Wendy Robertson, who is
our Principal and Grade R Educator at the School is qualified in
School Readiness as well as Child Care. Grade R children go through
a school readiness program which has been perfected over the passed
16 years.
Manna School supports its
Educators and staff by helping financially with funding their
education and skills development. We concentrate on the language
development of our learners and find that within a short period of
time, the children are able to communicate in English.
